Causes and effects of head lice
Head lice are parasites that are usually found in the human head. They have a capacity of multiplying very fast since the eggs laid which are called nits hatch in a span of 7-14days which is a very short span. Head lice are very common in children especially in girls because they usually have long hair. There a myth that head lice happen because if a person is not personally hygiene which is not true at all.
Head lice usually happen to people who are careless about using other's combs or sharing their combs, very close head contact with people who have head lice etc. Head lice cannot jump or fly they can only crawl. Sometimes even pillow covers that are not washed for a long time and might have lice on it can easily crawl into your head. Getting rid of head lice can be really tuff especially when you have a lot of them in your head so you should be careful and take care that you don't use anyone's comb or towel
Head lice cause a lot irritation and sometimes rashes on your neck and shoulder. It might also cause burning sensation to your scalp due to extensive scratching. It also causes embarrassment in public places when you have to scratch and you are absolutely helpless and cannot resist or do anything about. Children might get distracted or find it difficult to concentrate on their studies or on whatever they are doing. If you think that it is getting unbearable and unmanageable then you should visit a doctor and take some medication that the doctors suggest and get rid of them as soon as you can.
There are many ways of getting rid of head lice there are home as well as chemical remedies Mayonnaise is one of the well known remedies to get rid if head lice and is said to have an instant effect. White vinegar is also a very effective remedy and helps you get rid of head lice. You can also apply hot oil on your head and then brush the head lice from your head. Make sure that you brush your hair when wet at least once in three days to get rid of lice as well as nits (eggs). Chemical methods like shampoo and chemically treated oils are also available but there are chances that it might spoil the texture of your hair and might cause hair loss because at the end of the day they are chemicals and there has to be side effects of some sort so avoid using chemicals but if you are left with no other choice then use them but mild chemicals so before using any kind of chemical lotions or shampoos make sure that you consult a doctor. Medication can sometimes be harmful especially for pregnant women, breastfeeding and if one has asthma and is prone to other allergies.
If you take the necessary precautions and make use of the remedies then you can get rid of them easily.
